It just looks painful when a patient dislocates their finger. Somehow, I’ve found that reducing that dislocation seems to generate more anxiety on behalf of the patient than the misaligned digit itself. It doesn’t have to be that way, and with good local anesthesia and technique it won’t. Therefore, I’d be delighted if you’d check out this brief video on the reduction of the dislocated finger, in this case the proximal interphalangeal joint.
