I’m a bit of a tech geek, and one of the most valuable things I ever learned to do was to produce and edit videos. This started back in earnest in Medical School in the very early aughts – and I’ve been fortunate enough to have the resources to continue to do so today.
Here are some of the videos I posted on PEMBlog this year.
This video demonstrates a method that allows for needle decompression of the pneumothorax with visual confirmation.
Reduction of the dislocated finger is one of my favorite procedures to perform. This video demonstrates how to do a digital block, then reduce the dislocated proximal interphalangeal joint.
This year I started producing videos under my Art of Medicine banner, specifically focused on how to discuss common diagnoses and problems in the Pediatric Emergency Department with parents. Here are two such videos, the first on simple febrile seizures, the second on mild croup.
You can see more on my Vimeo and YouTube channels, both of which have the same content.
