PEMPix is the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Emergency Medicine’s annual visual diagnosis competition. On Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the 2021 Virtual National Conference and Exhibition I presented the ten finalists as a single video presentation. This is one of those ten finalist cases.
This case was submitted by Molly Curtis, MD a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellow from Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was assisted by Tyler Arnold, MD.
Dr. Curtis also won the Judges Award – Voting for which was determined in advance of the AAP National Conference and Exhibition, and also included the three online cases presented earlier this month. I won’t spoil the answer here…
