PEMPix is the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Emergency Medicine’s annual visual diagnosis competition. On Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the 2021 Virtual National Conference and Exhibition I presented the ten finalists as a single video presentation. This is one of those ten finalist cases.
This case was submitted by Caitlin Mueller, DO an Emergency Medicine Resident from Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center in Marietta, Georgia. She was assisted by Thomas Abramo, MD and Mona Kulkarni, MD.
Dr. Mueller also won the Audience Award – Voting for which was determined immediately following the PEMPix presentation at the AAP National Conference and Exhibition. I won’t spoil the answer here…
