Do you have an interesting medical photograph, video or radiographic image?
Do you like to try to stump your colleagues?
Can you insert that interesting image or video into a powerpoint presentation and then email it?
If the answer is YES to all three of those questions then you have what it takes to submit a case for PEMPix, the annual American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference and Exhibition. You don’t even have to be at the conference since I’ll present the case for you! Though if you want to come that’d be awesome too.
Please check out PEMPix.com for a brief introduction from yours truly as well as more information.
You can either submit by emailing me directly at brad.sobolewski@cchmc.org or by using the handy submission form at PEMPix.com. Either way, at the very least your submission should include two things – A case with images and a signed Authorization to Use Photograph form. Here are some more details.
The case
This can be a simple powerpoint presentation with the images or videos embedded or separate images and case description. There are sample of previous cases on PEMPix.com for your reference. Please include the following:
- A brief description of the history
- Pertinent images/videos
- FIVE options for a multiple choice question for the audience to select the correct diagnosis
- A brief conclusion that includes the correct diagnosis, patient follow up and additional educational information
The signed “Authorization to Use Photograph” form
This form is available on PEMPix.com. You can also download it right here.
I’ve extended the submission deadline to June 30th, 2017, after which a committee of AAP SOEM members will select the cases that will be presented at the AAP NCE in Chicago on Saturday September 16th.
I look forward to receiving your submissions and answering any questions that you might have.
