The Pediatric Education and Advocacy Kit (PEAK) Pain podcast series consists of 5 episodes that all focus on different aspects of assessing, managing, and supporting the pediatric patient in pain. This series was coproduced by the Emergency Medical Services for Children Innovation and Improvement Center (EIIC) in collaboration with yours truly (PEM Currents: The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Podcast), Dr. Julia Magaña and Dr. Sarah Medeiros (EM Pulse Podcast), Dr. Joelle Donofrio-Odmann and Dr. Joseph Finney (The Pediatric EMS Podcast), Dr. Bryan Allen and Dr. Sean Fox (EM Guidewire), and Dr. Mike Patrick, Dr. DJ Scherzer, and child life specialist, Courtney Hall (PediaCast CME Podcast). I collaborated with the creators of each podcast to develop a set of learning objectives that complement each other. The end result is a set of five podcast episodes that each tackle different considerations regarding pain management in the pre-hospital and Emergency Department setting. The perspectives range from a tight clinical focus, to non-physician team members (child life FTW!), and pre-hospital providers.
